churros & popcorn

i was going through old photos today and i came across this one. it makes me laugh.

young at heart

this is my sister in law's grandpa, he makes being 85 look fun and easy.
i'm having a hard time keeping up with 34, facing the reality of gravity and sugar. my great aunt emma used to say, in response to the question, why don't you eat healthier?, "why would i want to live forever, when all my friends are dead? i'll eat whatever i want." so until my friends have kicked the bucket, i guess i better try a little harder to eat right. (and thank goodness i committed to doing that after this party, because that cake was the most delicious cake i've ever had)

to dye for

there could not be more personality wrapped up into one family than the dyers. the father was singing 'tender shepard' while the mom was singing 'poker face', the dynamics are hilarious, we had such a great time together!
